LIFE SUCKS

Holy shit your life sounds fucking amazing compared to just about everyone else's story on here. You have a job, a car, and a friend, that is more than a lot of people.

I have no story to tell, just the life experiences I've had and those associated observations. I'm not a philosopher, I am not what you would call religious, nor do I have any answers, but I will tell you that life can become disallusional if you let it. Sometimes we are dealt a hand and we have no choice but to play that hand we are dealt the best way we can. I will state some facts, though. FACT ONE: Everyone has problems. No one person's problems are worse that anyone elses. I know this sounds naive, but as the way each and everyone of us perceive our own lives, that is a fact. People should not be this way, but they are. WE ALL LOOK OUT FOR OUR BEST INTEREST! FACT TWO: As time has gone by (as you may discover by my tone that I am not as young, or even as old as some of you) this society has changed - and not always for the better. Morals and doing the right thing gets harder and harder to find. Maybe that's because the times we live in now are much more volatile and instead of the old motto we had when I was growing up which was to try to help those who need help to a dog eat dog/survival of the fittest mentality. FACT THREE: Our children are our future, and with the way children are raised today (I'm not saying this applies to everyone, but I do think this applies in most cases), children today have become undisciplined, spoiled and insensitive to others. I believe this starts in the home. Although it may not be the case in every instance, I would say a high percentage of the time, the parents are not taking the time to actually parent their children. One possible reason I have is that parents have become so consumed with their own lives that they don't realize what damage their apathy is causing to their child(ren). Another reason could be that we feel that our child(ren) are so precious and we want to give them every creature comfort we can (most times without the child having to earn it by doing chores or the like), that our child(ren) become jaded and come to expect rewards without earning them; therefore, when they grow up, and unless they are born with a silver spoon in their mouthes, they either become selfish, insensitive, and/or greedy to other peoples needs. The last example might be that we, as parents, have become disallusioned to what has occurred in our lives that we mistreat our child(ren) to the point that we may ignore, resent, or openly abuse them. OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR MOST PRECIOUS COMMODITY AND WE SHOULD TREAT THEM AS SUCH. We need to be fair but firm and discipline when they break the rules and do it in an appropriate manner (not by beating them). We need to guide them and give them the tools to, not just survive, but to flourish and to be the best people that they can be so that when they have children, they follow our example. Of course, I realize that not everyone will agree with what I feel, but that is not the purpose of my posting. Ultimately, I just want people to think. I believe that we have more control over our lives than we think, which leads me to my last fact. FACT FOUR: LIFE IS HARD. When you're feeling down and out, it takes more guts and resolve to get up and get through each day and do the right thing than to give up and make those choices that are self distucting and/or are harmful to other people (whether you care about those people or whether they have hurt or caused you harm in some way). I will finish by saying these are just my thoughts, and you can take them or leave them. I am no judge, and I can tell you I have made too many mistakes in my life to count. If I have helped someone by writing this, I am glad. If not, at least you read them and maybe this will give you pause think.
