Very Lonely

Posted by anonymous at July 4, 2012

Hi I am a 15 year old boy who is very lonely. My sister returned from college last week and while she is chatting up her friends and hanging out with my cousins, I am sitting at my computer and sometimes cry in the bathroom for hours. All of my relatives treat me like a 5 year old, and my sister is the one that gets all of the attention. I got diagnosed with Aspergers when I was a little boy. Everyone at my school thinks I'm a fuck up, a person even said that my mom should have aborted me. i alway have bad marks, and whenever I try to have a conversation with someone, they go away from me because i'm "really creepy". It's not like i can control it! No one at my school knows about my condition yet. My sister is the cook, the person that every one likes, and has a lot of friends. I, however, am an amateur musician, the baby, the person who has no friends, and who is ugly and has raging acne.

Hey there. I get where you're coming from. I have a little brother who was recently diagnosed with aspergers as well, and it's incredibly hard to deal with that. You have to remember that its also not only difficult for you, it's also very hard for everyone around you. Your family, your sister, people at school. They don't know how to understand you, but that does not mean they are right. You are not a f*** up. Maybe you can talk to your parents and see if they can find contact to others who have gone through a similar situation like you. Maybe they could give you some concrete guidance on what things might make the situation better for you. It's ok to be sad and it's ok to cry, but you can't let it take over. Try to find someone to talk to when you're feeling down. You're not alone, and this doesn't define who you are. You can be a great and happy person, you just have to figure out how. Good luck!

I was exactly who you just described some years ago, aspie, acne and people thought i was a creep as well, with enough effort everything can be solved, it just takes some courage to face the social anxiety, and after that it should get much better. Good luck

Hang in there. At 15, you still have a lot of life yet to live. If you want to make friends, I would suggest joining a community based on an activity or hobby. Anything...take your pick. Sports, computers, cooking, animals, cars/bikes, music, theater, etc. Anything that is a group activity or develops a skill that you can share with others (like cooking). The best way to be friends with people is to have things in common with them.

Anyway, I hope this help you.

I get it pal, really. I don't know if you will read this but if you do, just hang in there. Everything will be alright.

Your acne can be treated - make sure you're taken to a dermatologist. There's no reason any kid should have to suffer with acne's devastation in this day and age. And be patient with yourself. You have lots of growing to do. Think of yourself as a caterpillar that is slowly developing into butterfly, a Monarch butterfly, a king. And that's what you are. A future king. Think of yourself that way and that's what you'll become. When people talk to you, listen to the good stuff and not the bad. Create yourself in YOUR image - the way YOU want to be. You can. Do it!

I know it feels like hell now- but you are only 15. Can you remember when you were 10...everything is for a time- you won't always be stuck in that situation. You'll eventually leave that school- you're young- you have a lot of time for your life to change...
