life truly sucks

i am an indian married woman. its been 5 months of my marriage and still i seek reason why i said 'yes' to marriage. prior to maariage i was a working woman, independent, self determined, happy, satisfied, confident. and now i am none of these. i can not wear the clothes i love. if ever i do mistake its like a crime worst than killing someone. for eg, if i couldn't make chapati in a round shape then people say its been 5 months and still you can not make round chapati. i used to not believe in giving money as a token of love to daughter. why its always daughter's parents have to spend on their daughter and son-in-law. but now people say its a token of love. if they dont give they dont love you. they measure love in this way.

Hello :)

It's hard for someone like me (french-canadian) to understand the validity of traditional indian marriage.
I always felt that marriage was a sacred bond celebrated through ceremony to officialise the true love between two people (man & woman, usually)I mean, it's a lifelong commitment, complicity has to be a factor here.

You are right when you say that "fretting" about the shape of chapati(?) is mindless and petty. Love on the other hand is a hard thing to express for some people and giving money is their way of saying they care, somehow. I wish I could tell you something inspiring but I am at loss for words. You seem like an evolved, smart and sensitive human being, I truly wish you the best for the new year, courage and wisdom. You can make it, your heart is at the right place, trust me, it shows through your short story.

I will pray for the light to shine into your life and for you to see it.

TAKE CARE and hold on....:)

Don't lose your real self coz of change in your lifestyle.
