I already have enough low self-esteem

I hate how everyone thinks I can handle harsh criticism. I can't. I always try to pass things off as alright. I've never had a problem with anyone - I don't choose to. I can honestly/accurately say that I'm an easy going person. I guess because of this nature, people can criticize me and think that I'll simply brush it off. Most of it is in good nature, but some I feel just go too far.

I know I look young for my age. That'd be alright to say if I were in my 40's or some shit. That just sucks since I'm 17. Asking me why I look young is just stupid. What the fuck do you expect me to say? "Because I choose to"? I'm well aware that I look like a 14 year old, so don't fucking point it out.

just ask them why do they look so damn old or ugly or why do they have a funny looking nose. it's alright to give it back...

I had the same problem! I grew a goatee and that helped a bit. And as someone said, give it back.

I think that it sucks how everything online is open to comments. A youtube video, a picture you upload, a comment you post, a blog entry. Sometimes you wanna create something without feedback from the peanut gallery. Thats why I keep the comments off. I don't want to grow a thick skin! I was always flattered when people said I looked young even when I was.

Hi, if you are an easy going person by nature, keep it like that. Dont attack people just because they attack you. But make sure you dont get resentful either.

Get it out of just chest in a calmed way. If people criticize you because they think you will brush it off, then let them know that it is not like that. That you dont like the comment, and they should restrain themselves to keep going. That wont take off your back all people, but at least a good part of them. At least the ones that DO criticize you because they think you dont mind.

And looking 14 when you are 17? You know, the age we look like has a lot to do with our attitude and the way we dress.

I dont think you should change, because of what people think, but if you really think you look 14, and you really dont like it, i am pretty sure that the right clothes, the right posture, and the right attitude can bring you up at least to looking 16 :) Dont change your self too much, just pay a bit more attention to your body language. That usually helps.
