I am male, 24. My life sucks but I am not sure how much. I got a good education, and I am still studying , but the problem is I wanted to join the army, got my basic training there until they found out that I had only one functioning kidney and I was kicked out. Now that sucked and now I have to get a checkup done every 15 days for it. Most of my friends are doing some job somewhere and so money is not a problem for them unlike me who is still unemployed, I tried to do some odd jobs to keep up but still no use. And so I am all the more lonely as everybody is too busy with their jobs to hang out. I never had a gf , was pretty shy (still am a bit), so that part sucks too. Now whenever I try to study, I feel like it is all useless and so my grades are getting pathetic. It seems pointless to study as I won't be able to do what I wanted(being in the army), no matter how much I try. I know, as the doc has told me that it is no big deal and people live comfortably with one kidney, but even then I feel that there is some big defect with me and I feel pretty miserable because of it. Now I am even more afraid of talking to girls, I feel that would someone even consider being with me, I mean I know that it is not a big problem but how can I make others understand it?

Hi
Can't you still do stuff similar to being in the army? Defensive skills, etc and possibly get an overseas contract?
Just think what you can do that others can't, and you can say "F--ck yeah, and I did it with 1 kidney!" ;-D
Ok, I'm a girl, I can't think of any reason a girl would be scared off by a kidney thing-- you're good.

No issues with one kidney. You can still have normal life. Some people have 2 functioning kidneys and opt to donate one of it to their loves ones (whose 2 kidneys are not working)

You may be a shy boy...but there are so so many girls out there. Maybe equally as shy as you. Take first step
