5 years ago I met an amazing girl who became my girlfriend. However I was too young and stupid to realize how lucky I was when I had her. We were together for 4 years and during that time there were days when I would get sick of her or thought I should be single like my friends. I thought I was missing out on fun times being locked in a serious relationship. She eventually could tell I was drifting away and having second thoughts about us so she left me and I didn't fight it. It took about a month for me to realize the huge mistake I had made letting her go. It has now been a year and a half since she left me and I'm still not over her. I think about her literally every day still and nothing I do helps. I've tried dating other girls but all that does is show me how unique my ex really was. I've tried explaining all this to her but she's moved on and is happy with her new life. Although it may pain a lot how things turned out with your ex, there must be a time when you must accept the fact and, as she did, you have to move on.
