Hi, I'm currently in high school as a sophmore. i feel really lonely at times and depressed. I only have 1 friend which I dont even really like anymore. my mom is selfish and doesn't care about me, and my dad is an alcoholic. Im really shy... im not weird though. I have a hard time with school because its really stressful to try and impress my parents when they dont even care. i wish people in school would try talking to me and know im actually really nice and would get along geat with them. on the weekends I dont do anything and sit in my house. ive never had a girlfriend and I feel like no one will ever love me. I sometimes cry because I realize how lonely I really am and how no one likes me… | |

High school is tough- but life after highschool is tougher! Best that you learn that now, and prepare yourself for it...
Being a child of an alcoholic parent is probably going to be one the most challenging situations in your life... Be strong! And know in your heart that your dad is very, very, sick. You know, when we're young and impressionable, we seem to think that our lives revolve around "having friends" and being "popular" but trust me, highschool is just a drop in the bucket! It's the person that you BECOME that really matters-
Do well in school. Study hard. Strive to reach the goals that you set for yourself. Work hard. When the time comes, a girl will come along and you might even be lucky enough to fall in love...
There is a whole wide world out there- just waiting for someone like you to come along and make a difference-
You are loved my friend- it may not seem like it, but there are people in your life that do care---
Focus on you. Focus on the fact that highschool will not last forever.... and eventually, bigger and better things will come your way:)
Good luck kid!

If there is no money for hobbies, get a job! Do something :)
Or concentrate on school really well if theres nothing else, then you will get into a uni you want, people there will be more mature its so much easier than high school where everybody only seems to judge and try to "be cool".
If you really try it will get better i promise.
And about your dad im really sorry :/ its not your fault. Hope it wont hold you down.
Good luck kid :) Make your life good..dreams do come true.
When you get into music and playing an instrument, you meet a whole bunch of players from all walks of life. You form friendships that last a lifetime. We all need to be involved in some kind of community. I hope that you find yours.
Good luck.
