I am Mom and my daughter is Meme. She is 34 now. She was born ill, it started with jaundice when she was born and a few weeks later she had an upper respiratory infection. I sat up nights awake just so she would'nt stop breathing without me there. One doctor over medicaded her and another helped her overcome the problem. Then through life she fell and got bumps,bruises and fevers as any child does. When she started school she was quite different. She wasnt very social and she couldnt focus and she had trouble learning as quickly as others. Not mentally retarded as we called it then by any means, just hard to focus, didnt make friends well and overall was awkrard all through school. I did try ridilin for a while but it didnt work so we stopped, she even went to a therapist as a teen who wanted to hypnotize her but she didnt except that well so we stopped. As an adult she just wanted a baby to love. Her heart is so big and caring and loving but she has difficulties with focussing and had so many bad experiences as a child that i didnt learn of util recently. That makes a mother feel guilty and sad. I didnt protect my baby.
Now she has clinical depression, extreme anxiety disorder, PMSD, a hernia,cracked tail bone, frequent kidney infections,swollen joints,pinched nerves,constant pain,siezures that has caused memory loss and keeps her from driving and now she has developed severe stomach and bowel problems! Oh but thats not the worst, the worst is...she has no insurance because her husband is self employed. He has VA insurance as a discharged Iraq vet, but she's not elligible. Her 3 children, 2 adopted and 1 biological has insurance through medicaid 1 is mentally delayed due to abuse before she adopted him,the other is autistic and 1 is fine.However she has none and can't get it because they have an income that pays the household bills with none left over but it's an income. She saw some doctors racked up neumerous bills that they struggle to pay but cant get the care she needs because she cant afford it. One doctor told her she can get anything with money and another told her, I cant give you any more tests because you owe too much already! Today she sat in the emergency room waiting to be seen due to passing out and developed abdominal pain for almost 6 hours. We had to leave because she still had and hour to go but she was hungry and exhausted! No insurance no care, no one is concerned. I said I would just take her home to die and the nurse said, if you dont like our facility there are other hospitals she can go to! She has been to four in the area to no avail! No insurance! Doctors are get rich mongrels! | |
